Abhimanyu Carries the Golden Ambari for the Sixth Time

The highlight of the celebration was the majestic Ambari weighing 750 kg, carried gracefully by the celebrated lead elephant, Abhimanyu, for the sixth time. Leading the procession with a dignified gait, Abhimanyu earned immense admiration from the crowd. Accompanied closely by Kumki elephants named Roopa and Cauvery, the procession advanced towards the city’s iconic landmarks with great reverence.

Cultural Showcases and Government Initiatives

The Jumbo Savari procession featured 58 beautifully crafted tableaux representing various departments of the state government. These displays highlighted several projects and initiatives, particularly the “Shakti Yojane” which emphasized free transportation facilities for women, reflecting positive social changes. The inclusion of such themes underlined the government’s commitment to empowerment and welfare.

Thousands of artists from different districts showcased their unique cultural expressions through vibrant music and dance, accompanied by traditional instruments like talas, melas, kansales, tambattes, dolus, and chandegals. This cultural exuberance added a lively spirit to the two-hour-long procession, fostering a sense of pride and unity among spectators.

Ceremony and Security Measures

The festivities commenced with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah performing a pooja near the Kote Anjaneya temple at Nandhidwaja at precisely 1:08 PM. The procession attracted huge crowds; hence, strict security measures were implemented. Access to view the Jumbo Savari was granted strictly to those holding special passes. Safety was ensured by cordoning off buildings and trees around the palace grounds to facilitate an organized viewing experience.

Despite intermittent rain and sprinklers along the route, the enthusiasm among the spectators remained undeterred, making the event a grand success.
